One of the problems of silicone makeup is the shine, or gloss, that is prevalent on most fresh silicone makeups. There are several tricks for removing the shine from silicone but some involve tricky timing or powders that may not photograph well. Enter Matting Gel. High Temperature Effects On Easy Flo Resins & PlatSil Silicones

Summer is here and it is HOT here in Texas! High temperature can have devastating effects on your molding and casting. RTV or "room temperature vulcanizing" materials are formulated for use at around 70-75 degrees Fahrenheit. Higher temperatures will accelerate RTV materials whereas low temperatures will either retard their cure or, in extreme cases, cause them not to cure at all. Unused, liquid components stored and used at 90F+ will behave as though an accelerator has been added. Easy Flo 60, 120, and Clear have a working time of 2.5 minutes at 75F.         Those of you in the FX world are probably already aware that there has been an extreme shortage of silicone adhesive. The shortage is now over! Telesis 5 and 7 are gone, but we now have Sil-Key from Neill's Materials and Snappy G from MouldLife. Woohoo!!
